SDPB Monthly EAS Test - January 23rd, 2024

SDPB is the state of South Dakota's primary EAS gateway, and they issue the required monthly tests every odd numbered month (January, March, May, July, September and November). EAS secondary stations, which are high power commercial stations, handle the even numbered months (February, April, June, August, October, and December).

Some notes about this one test. SDPB hangs on the EAS screen for nearly a minute after the test ends, leading to a possible jump scare at 1:32. Since I now only can tune in one channel at a time, I was unable to catch the rebroadcast of this test on KSFY/KDLT.

I did get KELO's feed, and it appears they rebroadcast the test twice. As I tune in, you can hear one rebroadcast end, go back to regular program sound for a few seconds, and then rebroadcast the same test from a secondary source, this being KXRB-AM in Sioux Falls.
