How did some slip of a girlyboy from communist East Berlin become the internationally ignored song stylist barely standing before you? cries Hedwig. She will no longer be ignored, not with the production put together by talented Seacoast artists Aaron Hutto , Todd Hunter, and Whitney Smith. Hunter and Smith are co-directing what is considered to be one of the most stylish musicals in history, John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trasks cult rock musical Hedwig and The Angry Inch, with Aaron Hutto playing the title character backed by Midnight Radio as the band rocks out every classic song from the show.

Midnight Radio was brought together specifically by Hutto for this project and they have been working on their sound in rehearsals for over a year. We wanted to create a show that audiences who love rock shows would be drawn to, while giving longtime fans of Hedwig a version that would hearken back to the earlier, more rough and tumble days of the show, says director Todd Hunter.

The Players Ring will be transformed into the lobby of the Hotel Riverview, in NYC during the late 1990s. The stage, normally a black box, will offer proscenium staging, allowing the audience to directly face the stage, which is raised, and view the performance through the proscenium "arch".

Hedwig and The Angry Inch opens Friday May 14th and runs until May 30th at The Players Ring Theater. Be sure to grab your seats in the Hotel Riverview lobby and enjoy the show before this intimate rock concert is gone. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
