If you want a game that scratches the Tony Hawk itch, this is it. You can already tell Street Uni X looks the part, and I'm pleased to say it feels the part of a Neversoft game, too. It's got a steeper learning curve though.

You'll need to master holding your combos while steering backwards and get used to the button for coasting - unicycling's version of manualing - being the button you'd expect to grind with. How you grind is unique too, as it can only be done by pressing the correct shoulder button that corresponds with the direction the ledge is in on either the rider's left or right side. It's a slight complication to what one's muscle memory, but it feels rewarding to master the controls which is a very attractive quality this game shares with the THPS games.

The only problem with this is once you do master the game, you start to notice how little game there really is. You'll start out with 6 characters and unlock an additional one for each new character you 100% career mode with for a total of 12. That is enough characters, but not enough variety in their stats or voice samples for them to feel different from each other. There's no option to create-a-unicyclist and break the game by maxing their stats out, either.

Really my biggest complaint is that as of July 8, 2024, there are only 5 levels in the game. I just need more Street Uni X. In order to make it happen, you need to buy this game, because what is available here is fantastic.
