Allied’s newly expanded distribution center features:
· A 520,000 square-foot total footprint with immediate capacity for 400,000 stocked products and space to expand to more than 800,000 stocked products in the future;
· A high-density warehouse area equipped with the latest KNAPP automated order, storage and retrieval (OSR), RFID pocket sortation, and goods-to-person (GTP) systems that can pick products from 118,000 different locations and deliver them automatically to one of 35 new picking stations;
· Automated box erector machines and robotic packing stations that precisely fit packages to each order’s size and content, speeding up the shipping process and significantly reducing packaging waste;
· Additional receiving stations to more quickly process inbound supplier products, along with a new boom conveyor system and high-traffic shipping lanes for efficient transfer of completed packages onto outbound transportation, and;
· A spacious and automated new will call center to facilitate easy product pickups for local customers.
