Two men from California are facing drug trafficking charges after troopers say they were caught with 46 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Orange County, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, it started Monday afternoon near the intersection of Conroy Road and Vineland Road in Orlando. Troopers say the SUV they were in made an improper left turn, crossed multiple lanes, and blocked traffic — enough reason to pull it over.

The driver, 40-year-old Shuoliang Zhen, told troopers he didn’t have any ID on him and said he was renting the SUV. Things got even more suspicious when troopers noticed:

Zhen was visibly shaking and stuttering

The passenger, 35-year-old Yi Wen Chen, was staring straight ahead, avoiding eye contact with law enforcement

A K-9 unit was brought in to sniff the SUV, and the dog alerted to the presence of drugs. That’s when troopers searched the vehicle and say they found:

Three large boxes inside the SUV

Each box filled with vacuum-sealed bags

Each bag weighing about one pound of marijuana

In total: roughly 46 pounds of cannabis. 🌿📦📦📦

Both men were arrested on the spot.

Zhen is charged with:

Cannabis possession

Trafficking in cannabis

Held on $30,500 bond

Chen faces the same charges, according to jail records.

What started as a simple traffic violation turned into a major drug bust on a busy Orlando roadway.
