Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this UWS 58-inch-long 5th wheel series truck bed toolbox with a gloss black diamond tread finish to it. Now this 5th wheel truck toolbox is the perfect solution for keeping your items safe, secure, and accessible in the bed of your truck while towing a 5th wheel trailer. It is designed to mount inside your truck bed, so it leaves your truck bed rails free for other use. And if you notice this box is designed with a low profile to it, to provide adequate clearance for the movement of the 5th wheel trailer. This is an 5/8 of an inch, extra-thick one-piece aluminum box, it'll hold heavy tools and cargo.

It is an aluminum construction, has fully welded seams on it so they're guaranteed not to rust. And we mentioned the finish is a nice gloss black powder coat diamond tread finish to it. On the front of the box, you can see it has the stainless steel lock handles on both sides and that's for security and corrosion-resistant operation. Basically you can open the box by just lifting this handle, or if you're on that side, if you just lift that handle, you don't need to lift both of them. On the driver's side, you notice does have a lock with two keys on it.

So just to show you if you pull up on the handle, you can open the lid, and then when you go to close it, and then just like that, you can turn your key a quarter of a turn and that'll lock both handles so nobody can get into it. And then just put your key back in and unlock it, and then you can open it back up. If you notice the handles are widespread, makes it easy to reach from either side of the truck. Now I do wanna show you the inside and we are gonna zoom in for that. Let me just turn this and we'll open the box up.

Now with the box open, you'll be able to see the inside portion. And I wanted to show you there's a connecting rod that goes from this latch to that latch and that connecting rod allows you, as we mentioned, the convenient operation to open from either the driver's or the passenger side, but what it's nice about it is they put this nice enclosure here over that connecting rod and that's designed to help prevent bending or jamming of the lock system. So if you have something in your truck toolbox that could possibly slide and hit that connecting rod, you don't want that to happen to where it might bend it. So they have this protection here that will keep anything from damaging that connecting rod. Now it is a nice beveled lid, has a patented foam-filled lid that provides insulation, protection from the elements.

It is a structural foam lid, which will reinforce the shape and strength of the lid. And I also want to open it up and show you there's a foam seal on the inside right here, if you notice, around the whole edge right down here, all the way up and around. This foam seal will help to protect the contents that you keep in here from the elements. Right here, it has the gas cylinders, one on each end and those gas cylinders will help lift the lid and hold it in the open position. It does use a piano hinge and a piano hinge will run the full length of the box. And that helps give you extra support to the lid for opening and closing it. Last thing I wanna do is give you a few dimensions on this. We'll zoom back out and we're gonna measure. I'm gonna measure the overall dimensions and then we'll measure the inside dimensions. So I'm gonna get my tape measure. So overall dimensions, we're gonna go from outside to outside, and it's right at 58 inches for the length. The width of it, again, outside to outside, 18 inches. And the height, bottom to the top is right at 10 inches. Now, when you do close the lid, that will add about an inch to those measurements, the interior measurement, you just measure the inside of it, is gonna be right at 56 3/4 inches long with this 16 1/2 inches wide, total depth size inside is about 9 inches deep. So it does give you on the inside about six cubic feet of usable space. And again, just to close your lid.
