Buying Disney Vacation Club comes with loads of massive decisions; a particularly stress-inducing one can be how many points should you purchase? Vacation Points are used to book DVC accommodations, so the annual allotment of points you receive is very important and can dictate your stay. Some resorts generally cost more points than others, and larger room sizes cost more points than smaller room sizes. More "desirable" views also cost more points! And of course, points are per night so the longer you want to vacation the more points you'll need.

The amount of points you'll need (or want!) is going to be highly variable between people, largely dependent on your vacation style/habits as well as your financial situation. In general though you will be trying to balance buying enough points to be able to take your desired trips with not overpaying for your DVC contract (don't forget how quickly those annual dues can add up).
