I was literally knocking on doors in the small town of sora, Lazio, with houses that had my family’s last name on them. I didn’t want to disturb anyone, but I think some people were a bit disturbed by my presence. Maybe they thought I was an auditor or creditor or something, but all I wanted to do was find my distant relatives so I can become more connected to this town and my grandparents. I went to the Sora train station, headed for the next station called Le Compre, where I noticed a whole giant group of teenagers we’re waiting, who seemed to take this train on a daily basis, I guess to go home and then come back for school. After getting some more information about my grandparents house, I went to this even smaller village and started looking for the house that my grandparents lived in.
