Paddling on flooded roads in Twickenham! Tidal flooding Winter 2021

Twickenham riverside flooding during the Spring Tides on the river Thames in February, allowing us to take the Kayak on the flooded roads and footpaths on a sunny early Spring afternoon.

Thames flooding is a regular occurrence in Twickenham during the spring tides, several times a year: The roads and some of the footpaths on Twickenham Riverside get flooded with enough depth to take a paddle board (SUP) or kayak along. This is generally harmless as the properties and local businesses (like this pub) are equipped for this. The only occasional damage is when cars park on the road in the flood zones.
