About 2 months after I placed the pre-order on a Second Hour Memoir with the Red Dial, it finally arrived today. For some reason, I've felt strongly that if I had a square/rectangular watch, it would have to be one with a red dial. Something about that combination seems really right and appealing to me.

If I had the money, I really wish to get a JLC Reverso 1931 Tribute Small Seconds with a burgundy dial. But, that's quite a bit more expensive averaging around high $8k to $11k, from my last browsing for one on the second hand market.

So, this pretty affordable Second Hour Memoir certainly fulfills the spot with a very similar design aesthetics.. sans the flippy case action.

I think it looks pretty good and fits my 6.9" wrist well. the strap it comes on is not bad. But, it makes the overall look of the watch very red, obviously. It can work. But, I think this watch could have been better paired with a more contrasting strap option to let the dial and it's color take center stage which would be more complimentary and interesting.

As such, and anticipating needing better strap options, I already have at least one aftermarket strap on order. I hope to share it as soon as it arrives. I believe the aftermarket strap options I have in mind will really make this watch sing and look even better. Stay tuned.
