Celtics put on a passing clinic in this one (38 assists on 48 field goals) and easily won the game. McHale had 28 points and 10 rebounds on 12/17 FG.

It's such a shame that injuries killed this team in the 1987 playoffs.

Inside the dressing room, the 6-8 Ben Coleman said: ''First it was my dream to play against Kevin McHale, Robert Parish and Larry Bird, and today it became true. Next year, I may not get a chance to play against the likes of them. I'm taking what happened today as a learning experience. Nothing negative. It was tough. I got my work cut for me.''

While watching the end of the telecast of the Indiana-Louisiana State N.C.A.A. tournament game, McHale said: ''Half the time when I get the ball, I have an idea of what I'm going to do. The other half, I just do it. A lot of that is because of Larry. He gets me the ball in great position to score.''
