The Battle of Fredericksburg & the Winter Of 1862-63

Описание к видео The Battle of Fredericksburg & the Winter Of 1862-63

Fredericksburg, Virginia, was a little town with a long history. It was here that a young George Washington roamed. And, there were others of national fame who once made this locale home; John Paul Jones and James Monroe. But during civil war, its location made it, some 51 miles north of Richmond and 52 miles south of Washington City, a military target.

On November 7, 1862, some forty miles or so to the northwest, there was an event that, when played out, would put Fredericksburg squarely in the cross-hairs of civil war.

This is the story of the Battle Of Fredericksburg and the shared winter of 1862-'63.
