How to set personal boundaries

When setting personal boundaries there are two types of boundaries to consider, the hard boundaries these are boundaries you are unwilling to compromise on. These are things that you will never do or accept as reasonable for instance your value system or principles or your identity anyhow what you consider important that you can never compromise on.

The second category of boundaries are the soft boundaries, these are boundaries that you choose to be more flexible and patient on these can include aspirations.
• Categorize your boundaries to hard boundaries and soft boundaries clearly
• Set standard and principles that guide your life
• Set your priorities at work, and life in general
• Communicate your personal boundaries and consequences when its breached
• Actively listen to those around to avoid misunderstanding or getting the wrong signals
• Apologize
• Test your boundaries to see if they work or how you communicate them or respond in a respectful way when they are breached. With patience test each boundary, draw lessons and with time you will get better.
• Commit to live to the personal boundaries you have set.
