When I found out that my nephew likes swords, I just had to build him one. Obviously, I wanted to build it out of wood, but that's got it's own challenges. It needs to be light but strong, resist splitting and splintering, and have no points or sharp edges. On top of all that, it still needs to look cool. It wasn't easy, but I'm happy with the finished product.
