PRO TOOLS 2020.11 - AUDIO TO MIDI (NEW FEATURE)

In Pro Tools 2020.11 you can now turn audio into MIDI 🔥 This video will show three different ways to use this new feature.

By using Audio to MIDI, you could extract MIDI from several drum tracks, and then use Superior Drummer 3, BFD3, Addictive Drums, etc... to completely re-do the drum track.

Extract MIDI from a piano audio track, and use a different piano or synth VI to completely change the sound of the track.

Extract MIDI from a Violin track and use the MIDI for Woodwinds, or a piano, or different strings in Native Instruments Kontakt for example.

Extract MIDI from a guitar track, take it up an octave in the MIDI editor, and create a synth harmony.

Extract MIDI from audio loops and use different virtual instruments to completely transform the clip.

There's so much you can do with this new feature, just be creative.

This feature is a collaboration between Celemony and Avid.
You will use Celemony Melodyne as your Audio to MIDI Plug-in.

You can find this in: SETUP - PREFERENCES - Processing Tab, and you'll find it under Celemony ARA.

If you have a current Pro Tools license, you will get Celemony Melodyne Essential for free. If you need it, you can find it in your Avid Account.

For those wondering, ARA means Audio Random Access.
