Ripstop Nylon Hole Repair - Tents, Jackets, and More

Описание к видео Ripstop Nylon Hole Repair - Tents, Jackets, and More

In this episode, I explain how to repair ripstop nylon- a material commonly used in tents, jackets, and other gear. All you need is to buy a section of ripstop nylon (water proofed), gear or industrial craft glue (I used E6000 glue), and scissors.

1. Clean area you will be working on by laundering or spot cleaning with a mild detergent. Ensure all soap residue is cleaned off & is completely dried.
1. Cut a square of ripstop nylon
2. Evenly disperse glue on one side of the nylon
3. Take the square and put the glue side positioned in center of hole.
4. Continuously press on square until bonded. Could take 10-20 minutes.
5. Keep an eye on it ensuring no corners come up. Add additional glue as needed.
6. Wait 24-72 hours prior to use in the field.

Notes:
Do not use traditional super glue. This will not adhere properly to Nylon. Ensure you use a gear/ industrial craft glue. The glue should be flexible.

Recommended glues

All purpose, works fine. Not a gear specific glue, use at own discretion.

If you are in the field, and don't have 24-72 hours, check out Tenacious tape. A quick fix until you can get back home to do a permanent repair. Video to follow.
