Resumen y recopilación en castellano del origen, la historia y las características de los Ents y los Ucornos (Huorns), los Pastores de los Árboles de la Tierra Media. Tuvieron vida en el pensamiento de Yavanna cuando supo de la creación de los Enanos e Ilúvatar accedió a su ruego para proteger a todas las olvar. Los Elfos los despertaron en la Edad de los Árboles y Bárbol era el más viejo de todos los Ents. Algunos vivieron en Ossiriand en la Primera Edad y lucharon contra los Enanos en la batalla de Sarn Athrad, donde dieron ayuda a Beren. En la Segunda Edad buscaron a las Ent-mujeres, pero no pudieron encontrarlas y desde entonces ya no volvió a nacer ningún Entando (Enting). En la Tercera Edad ya quedaban muy pocos, fueron subestimados por Saruman y la llegada de Merry y Pippin les sirvió para atacar Isengard y destruir el círculo de Orthanc. Luego Aragorn Elessar les dio el valle.
