Описание к видео Vintage 1952 Archer Plastics Space Truck No.2, and Finding Space Figures Which Match In Scale

Archer Plastics formed sometime during 1950 as “Almor Plastics” in Elmhurst NY.

Renamed Archer Plastics in 1951.

Archer’s Space People figures designed 1951-1952 by company founder Robert Genin and German artist/designer Gerald E. Stahl.

Patents for Archer’s space cars and space figures applied for in 1952. Patents for three of the space cars are granted but none for the space figures, accounting for the “Pat.Pend” markings on the early hard plastic figures.

Archer space toy lines debuted at the New York Toy Fair in 1952. Millions are produced to fit consumer demand. Competitors such as Ajax Plastics, Premiere Plastics and Marx Toys note the success & create their own space toy lines.

Archer launches its “Child Guidance” range of plastic educational toys in 1953. The success of the venture eventually consumes all other company concerns.

Archer Plastics relocates production to the Bronx, NY in 1954.

Archer’s final line of now soft plastic space figures produced in 1955.

Child Guidance supercedes “Archer Plastics” as the company name in 1956, remaining in business until 1967 when Robert Genin sells the company.

c.1990 “Glencoe Models” obtains the original Archer Space People molds, restores those deemed still usable and launches a series of hard plastic recasts in 1991.

"Blast Off" at Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Blast-Rockets-... Or look for a pre-read copy on e-Bay, mine was a library book which set me back $6 + postage.

The "Space.Trucks" videos, Instagram feed and related blog are for sharing my enthusiasm for vintage, antique & offbeat Space Toys with other grownup collectors and are not made with child-age audiences in mind.
