How does a kerosene fan work?
It sort of just move the air between the two cylinders and work with the expansion of air when it gets heated by an external
source (the burner you can see at the bottom of the fan in this case), and the compression as it gets cooled again via the regenerator.

How does a Stirling engine fan work?
Stirling engines work by moving a sealed volume of air from the hot base to a cool top plate.
The air is rapidly heated and cooled as it moves from the cool top plate to the hot base. The warm air expands and causes the piston to push up. While the cool top plate rapidly cools the air and causes it to contract.
