US deploys strategic bomber for joint air drills following North Korea's ICBM launch | ABS-CBN News

The United States on Sunday (November 3) deployed a B-1B bomber for joint aerial drills with South Korea and Japan, conducted in response to North Korea's recent launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
The military exercise showed the three countries' strong commitment to responding to the North's nuclear and missile threats through cooperation, JCS said in a statement.
This is the second time this year that the three countries have conducted joint air drills and the fourth time in 2024 that the United States has deployed its strategic bomber on the Korean peninsula, JCS added.
North Korea on Thursday (October 31) flexed its military muscle with the test of a huge new solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile dubbed Hwasong-19. North Korea's ICBM launch came shortly after it started dispatching soldiers to aid Russia's war in Ukraine, which drew swift condemnation from Washington and its allies in South Korea, Japan and Europe, as well as the United Nations secretary-general.
