Uncertainty and adversity are the new normal in the wildfire environment. Meet the up-and-coming cohort of field-level leaders molded in this era of catastrophic fires. In this panel discussion, they'll share how they've learned to turn adversity into opportunity and serve their teams with a focus on culture and the fire service of the future.

This event will also delve into careers in wildland fire, pivotal moments, allyship, and the reasons why individuals choose to enter and stay in this critical field. It's a great opportunity for anyone, especially those new to the fire world seeking diverse perspectives.

Who are Women in Wildland Fire?
We are current and former Wildland Firefighters who have come together to share the experiences of women in fire. We aim to explore the challenges faced, highlight the progress made, and build a community to support and assist women and other underrepresented groups in this field.
Panelists work in the wildfire world in a diversity ways, whether that is directly with fire through wildfire management and intentional fire, or through wildfire focused careers in the fields of social and ecological science, advocacy and policy, and program management. We are excited to share a conversation with these panelists to explore the opportunities within and beyond the wildland firefighting world so that we may continue to cultivate an intentional fire community that values one another and the landscapes we work within. Panelists will answer questions considering ideas on allyship, pivotal times in their careers, and why they decided to enter and stay in the wildfire world.
