“Businessman, $1Mn, Gun” How Tehran Plotted Netanyahu, Anti-Regime Iranians’ Assassinations

Israel has accused Iran of plotting to assassinate Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar. According to the Shin Bet, Iran’s efforts were particularly intense following the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. An Israeli civilian was arrested in August for allegedly being recruited by Iran to assassinate Israel’s prime minister, defence minister, or the head of the Shin Bet. The suspect was smuggled into Iran twice and received payment to carry out the missions, the Shin Bet claimed.
