To begin the first episode of 2026, Brad and Quin introduce the Achaaka program. In this program, tribal home educators travel to Chickasaw families and bring a variety of support, educational tools, and lessons to help children, parents and guardians thrive through the first 5 years of a child’s life. This culturally informed and age-appropriate resource is free and voluntary for Chickasaw families throughout the Nation. “The Chickasaw Nation is all about family, and they’re one big family” says program supervisor Rhonda Skelton. “What better way to represent that than to have a program that is going to help families thrive.” Learn more about Achaaka and see if it’s available in your area by calling (580) 272-1313 or emailing [email protected].

The Chickasaw Nation provides First American children safe and nurturing foster homes. Right now, there is an urgent need for foster families. Tribal citizens throughout Oklahoma are encouraged to apply to become a foster parent through Chickasaw Nation Family Preservation Services.
