OC Transpo Ottawa O Train Confederation Line 1

Scenes from OC Transpo Ottawa's O Train Confederation Line, also known as Line 1.

This light railway has replaced the central section of the former "Transitway", part of a system of bus only roadways and bus lanes that now feed into the railway system.

OC Transpo operates Line 1 with a fleet of Alstom Citadis Spirit Trams running to standard gauge and energised at 1500v DC.

The line is currently being extended in a south westerly direction, again over parts of the bus only transitway roads in this area.

OC Transpo's Line 2 was not in operation during my visit to Canada's capital city. I look forward to returning one day when there will be 3 lines to ride.
