Trust-based learning webinar, March 2023

Co-hosted by the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project (TBP) and the Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR), this webinar focused on how trust-based philanthropy rethinks metric-focused, project-specific impact evaluation to instead make space for learning – learning for accountability, decision-making, and long-term impact.

Shaady Salehi (Executive Director of TBP) first outlined the principles of trust-based learning. Brenda Solorzano (CEO, Headwaters Foundation and Steering Committee Member, Trust-Based Philanthropy Project) then shared how her organisation has implemented these approaches to learn about their work and improve over time, while keeping her Board engaged on the big picture.
