Hopkins has had a pretty decent football program over the past decade, with some star power every year.
But playing teams like Eden Prairie, Wayzata, and in recent seasons Maple Grove, it's hard to get noticed.
This fall, Hopkins moves into the Suburban Blue sub-district, meaning they'll face opponents more at their level, many of them in class AAAAA.
The Royals have three starters back on each side of the ball, and have had great competition for spots in fall camp.
Hopkins opens the season against Apple Valley August 31st.
