GR Corolla spare tire- finished!

This video show how I mounted a 135/70-18 spare tire in my 2023 Toyota GR Corolla trunk.

(Update- after this video was made, I flipped the wheel over. Works better that way- the round bag fits better in the wheel recess.)

I purchased a used Toyota spare from a Rav4 Prime, and used that 18x4 wheel, but NOT the tire, which is much too tall. I purchased a loose 135/70-18 "donut" spare tire and mounted it on the wheel. That tire is almost exactly the same diameter as the GR normal tires, and the load rating on the tire is plenty for the GR. You also need to get a jack and lug wrench, since the GR does not include those.

There are two companies that sell spare wheels with tires for the GR. I have not done any business with them, but included these links below for your convenience. Both use a 125/70-18 tire, which is slightly smaller diameter, but would probably work fine.

BTW If you don't want to mess with cutting the foam, I also found that a collapsible spare from a Maserati (really) works well with the car. That tire fits well just sitting on the floor behind the passenger seat. Details here:
