Sit back as I present to you trains from July and August 2017. The great weather (dry most of the time) got me out for trains when I wasn't working. I'm now familiar with the Bloomington–Normal railfan scene since I moved here in April, so this video production is devoted exclusively to the area.

July 18, 2017
(0:00) A quiet moment is captured at the Union Pacific yard in Bloomington.
Mixed freight "MBNAS" is waiting for a crew to arrive.

(0:17) At "B-N Target" where the UP crosses over the NS, a pair of GP60s lead an 18-car local.
These two units ran out of here earlier in the morning to work industries along the Springfield Sub mainline.

(4:40) For the first time in a year and a half, I visited Uptown Station in Normal.
We get a good look at the "south platform," currently under construction.

(4:55) Taste of Canadian National goes along on a short intermodal heading to Global IV.

(8:30) One of Amtrak's Lincoln Service trains arrives.
In trail is a special treat, a SC-44 "Charger" manufactured by Siemens in Sacramento, CA. According to a news release, these locomotives offer lower maintenance costs, reduced fuel consumption and quieter operation. In addition, they will be able to travel up to 125 mph, with faster acceleration and braking for better on-time reliability.
