XD45 Tactical: Good for IDPA?

This 5” barrel XD45 Tactical from Springfield Armory has been on the market since 2008. Unfortunately most people do not like the 5” barrel model, due to it being too long to carry every day, but for competition, it's great. The 5” barrel, especially in 45ACP, makes shooting really nice. The snap of the barrel, like most 45ACP pistols, does go up but quickly comes back down and you are back on target quickly. So is the XD Tactical a good choice for IDPA? There are a lot of other options available with longer barrels that are being used in IDPA Matches, and I believe the XD45 Tactical is the "forgotten" pistol. So is the XD Tactical for you?
