Voltage transformers : Voltage transformers come in two basic solutions: potential transformer (PT) with iron-core construction and capacitor coupling voltage transformers (CVTs) that use a capacitor coupling principle to lower the voltage level first and then use the iron-core transformer to get further reduction in voltage.


Surge arrester : A surge arrester is a device to protect electrical equipment from over-voltage transients caused by external or internal events. Also called a surge protection device or transient voltage surge suppressor, this class of device is used to protect equipment in power transmission and distribution systems.


Current Transformer : A current transformer is a type of transformer that is used to reduce or multiply an alternating current. It produces a current in its secondary which is proportional to the current in its primary. Current transformers, along with voltage or potential transformers, are instrument transformers.


Wave Trap / Line trap : A line trap, also known as wave trap, or high-frequency stopper, is a maintenance-free parallel resonant circuit, mounted inline on high-voltage AC transmission power lines to prevent the transmission of high frequency carrier signals of power line communication to unwanted destinations.
