X Challenge (Buster Only) - Mega Man X Legacy Collection Stage 1 [No Death]

Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 came out today and I'm taking my first crack at a semi-challenge run. I say "semi" because it's not really a full-fledged run and more of me just having fun, hence the "No Death" challenge. I can at least manage that with little stress.

Stage 1-1: Chill Penguin and Frost Walrus

These two aren't that bad. One thing I will say is that I won't sit up here and lie to you that I didn't have any trouble with this one. I guess when you pit two of the most easy Maverick Bosses together, they do somewhat of a competent job at keeping you on your toes. A quick strategy I thought up of here is to keep Walrus's HP good and healthy to avoid him using his special attacks while I'm fighting Penguin. Doing so gives me less crap to dodge on the screen and not make this end up a mini-Touhou, lol. Once Penguin's down, you've got a slow and easy fight.

Stage 1-2: Wheel Gator and Bubble Crab

Well... HERE'S A HARD ONE. See, I was doing good in the first half until I started getting sort of disoriented with all the projectiles and Bubble Crab's tendency of not knowing how to stay still with his sporadic movements. Best I could come up with on the fly was to sort of get in and get as many hits on Gator while Crab gives me room to breathe. Honestly, this strategy was working, I was just doing poor at executing it after the midway point (I'm still getting used to fighting 2-on-1 after all). After Gator's down, I just use the old Bubble Crab exploit that thankfully still works to make short work of him.

Stage 1-3: Slash Beast and Crescent Grizzly

This one's... actually pretty easy. With the sunk platforms, this outright makes Grizzly a non-issue and allows you to take out Slash Beast with relative ease. Since Beast no longer has a flat terrain, it's kinda funny how even he doesn't know what do at some points. Still, since I was already coming into this with low HP, I had to not let up. I got lazy/scared near the end because I knew one hit would murder me, lol.

Anyway, enjoy this little mini challenge run. I'll let you know now that I won't be consistent with this one, since it's just a little side thing I wanted to show off. So, don't expect consecutive videos or anything. I'll post them when I feel up for it. Either way, my next big project is priority and I just wanted to show this off.
