The best method to gameshare on Steam is by using the new Steam Families feature. This system is a significant improvement over the older "Family Sharing" method, offering a more streamlined process and better features, and it is intended to replace the old system entirely.

The Best Method: Using Steam Families
Steam Families allows up to six members of a household to share all eligible games in their libraries with one another. It's designed for family use and provides better management tools.

Step 1: Create a Steam Family (The Owner)
The person who will be the "owner" of the family needs to create it.

Open the Steam client and log into your account.
Go to Steam Settings Family & Sharing.
Click on Create a family.
Give your family a name and click Create.

Step 2: Invite Family Members (The Owner)
From the same Family & Sharing settings page, you will see a list of your family members.

Click Invite a member.

You can then select a friend from your list or search for them by their account name.

Choose whether to invite them as an Adult or a Child.

Adults have full access to parental controls and can manage family members.

Children are subject to parental controls and cannot manage the family.

Click Send Invite.

Step 3: Accept the Invitation (The Recipient)
The person receiving the invitation needs to accept it to join the family.

They will receive a notification in their Steam client (the bell icon in the top-right).

Click on the notification. This will take them to the "Family Management" page.

Click Accept and then Confirm.

They will be asked to verify their decision, possibly with a Steam Guard code sent to their email.

Step 4: Install and Play Shared Games
Once a member has joined the family, they can access shared games instantly.

Go to your Steam library.

Games from other family members' libraries will now appear alongside your own.

You can use the filter option at the top of the library to "Group by library" to easily see which games are owned by whom.

Click on a shared game and click Install. The game will download and be playable from your account.
