After the triumph of the Obama Presidency, the context of civil rights has not been used as often. Even with the ascendance of the Black Lives Matter movement, we have been using different frames and emphases to talk about education. Yet, there are those, like the former CEO of the National Urban League, Hugh Price, who can not only connect historic civil rights agendas to the current state of education, but have lived it.

Recent events have shown that some parts of the nation are still resisting integration--in some ways the are resisting the integration of students by rejecting the history that describes how their generations arrived at this point in time. In other ways, they resist the integration of resources.

Join us as Hugh Price and I explore those connections to provide a historical context for achievement and contemplate how we can overcome that resistance.
