Soswaewon is called a sample of our country's gardens as it looks like a natural house along a small valley. It was built in the middle of the Joseon Dynasty, designated as Scenic Site No. 40, and is said to be one of the three major gardens of Joseon along with Seoyeonjeong Seoseokdae.
