God is about to raise up every vessel in Haiti to bring peace, joy, positivity, and light into one of the darkest places on earth. Many times, I compare Haiti to the stories in the Bible. As Haitians, we have endured abuse of power, corruption, humiliation, and inhumane treatment. The world often gives up on us—but God never has. “For the LORD will not abandon His people, nor forsake His inheritance.” (Psalm 94:14)

God loves Haiti deeply. If His hand wasn’t over this island, Haiti would no longer exist, but His light continues to shine on us. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

We are the first Black nation to break free from slavery, the island that rose out of the darkest waters of the Caribbean, and the only Black country with an elected president instead of a prime minister. Being Haitian is not only about being born in Haiti; it is in the blood. No matter where your mother or father gave birth to you, if Haitian blood is in your veins, resilience, courage, and spiritual strength live within you. “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.” (1 Peter 2:9).

Now is the time for us to get on our knees, seek the Lord, and remember that everything begins and ends with Him. “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

God alone can fully restore Haiti—including the land itself.
