To activate the parking brake maintenance mode on a 2017 Ford Fusion with a push start button, follow these steps:

Make sure the vehicle is in Park (P) and the engine is off.

Locate the push start button on the center console.

Press the push start button without starting the engine. This will activate the accessory mode.

Completely depress the accelerator, and keep it depressed.

While depressing the accelerator, push down on the parking brake lever AND continue depressing the parking brake lever and accelerator for the next step.

Cycle the push button, by pushing it once and then pushing it again within five seconds.

The parking brake maintenance mode should now be activated.
