Kia ora everyone and welcome back to Sid Meier's Civilization 5! Today I'm playing as Byzantium - The Byzantine Empire in Civ 5, lead by Theodora. Unfortunately, the Byzantine Empire in Civ 5, much like Byzantium in Civ 6, is largely focused around it's religion and a few early game units. However, in civ 5, we can't win a religious victory... so not entirely helpful...

Byzantium is largely regarded as one of the worst civ in civ 5, and also the worst civ of the Gods and Kings expansion. Byzantine is an f-tier civ due to it's highly narrow (and sometimes literally impossible to utilize) ability which grants it one extra religious belief. While it's trireme and horseman replacements are reasonably strong, they're not significantly better than their counterparts because they're very different. The Dromon is a uniquye trireme that is ranged (not melee), and the horseman has less movement for slightly more strength. Aaaaand that's all folks. Seriously - that's it.
