This is one of the episodes where Penny is more active, going on more of an adventure on her own. And she also makes friends with a boy that she meets, and gets him actively involved in her adventure.

It's a shame that Gadget's unfunny comic antics tend to take up so much of the show, because Penny has gone on some pretty cool Hardy Boys-esque adventures on her own. They could practically be their own show.

But, dutifully, I toss out Gadget and leave what remains: the mystery/adventure aspect of the show.
