Rivet Gun - How to Remove a Pop Rivet/Blind Rivet

In this video, I will be demostrating how to remove a rivet from an object safely and with minimal mess. It is important to be safe when using a drill. DO NOT try to drill a rivet out of an object which isn't secured with something such as a Vice.

Once the object you want to remove the rivet is secure, you need to choose an appropriate drill bit, which will drill out the centre of the rivet. If you use one that is too large you will increase the size of the hole you have removed the rivet from.

If you use a drill bit which is too small, the centre of the rivet will be drilled away but the rivet will remain attached but in a weakened form.

Always wear safety goggles and appropraite gloves when operating machinery. Without the correct safety precautions, you could cause yourself or someone else serious injury.
