For anyone unaware, I've been uploading some of my old megacollabs on the channel recently. This is because I never uploaded full videos of them, and I'd like to have them all without any intro, outro, or clicks for MyDemonList. It's a website where you'll be able to score levels from 1 to 10, kinda like IMDb, MyAnimeList, and Rate Your Music. I hope you don't mind looking back on these now. We're very soon done with these uploads.

Ouroboros is my megacollab that took the longest, and I think that makes sense looking at it. It's definitely my most ambitious megacollab thus far. The level is nearly 3 minutes long, and we wanted to keep the theme and color scheme consistent throughout. While the theme, which can be defined as hell broadly, has been done a lot in the game, the color scheme is not the easiest to execute well. Purple and orange is what makes this stand out most from normal "hell" levels. However, aside from the color scheme, we also did the theme a lot more detailed than most. There's a lot of art and even some story involved. The block designs and decorations are also quite detailed.

I started this right after the release of 2.1, and it only came out in summer 2019. It took about two and a half years from start to finish. I still remember the planning process pretty well. I wanted to make another huge hell level for 2.1, just like Bloodbath and Yatagarasu were for the 2 previous versions. However, making it red and black without much art felt too boring and repetitive. The purple and orange color scheme came from some concept art I found while browsing art. I got AbstractDark to make the first part based on that, and he mixed the colors really well. The rest of the creators simply worked off of his colors.

Next in the process was deciding a name and of course some creature to involve. Yatagarasu was so successful, and that was obviously based on the creature featured in the level by the same name. (By the way, even though I did not end up uploading that, I may showcase it too since it was hosted entirely by me.) After searching through some lists of mythical creatures, I came across Ouroboros, and while it can be depicted as a serpent, we went for the dragon route. Rustam made the design based on some dragon art I found. It's worth noting that it's not close to traced, but just inspired by the art.

In the middle of all of this, I found Synergetic Enigma by Dan Johansen, and with the artist being Norwegian, I got in touch with him and he was fine with us using this and monetizing videos of it. He was also extremely hyped for the level. After the level released, he's been incredibly happy about the popularity of the song, which was great to see.

Going back to the planning process, I picked creators who I thought could do this color scheme well, while also doing quite detailed parts visually. I had recently played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and if you're familiar with it, you'll know how the world is setup around Hyrule Castle. Everything from 1:25 until the end is inspired by the experience I had approaching that and the final fight of the game. Here, you start off in a forest for G4lvatron's part. After getting through the forest, you find yourself in a ruined city for OSIRIS GD's part, and you see the Ouroboros wreak havok on the buildings in the background. In the middle of the city, you find a castle and go closer and closer until you get inside of it. Loserchik67 did an amazing job executing my vision for this part. In the depths of the castle, you find the Ouroboros and fight it for the final fight. ChaSe used Rustam's dragon design and executed this very well. For the final animation at 2:31, we tied in how it eats its own tail, representing eternal cycle of destruction and rebirth, before the amazing endart. This was done by G4lvatron.

I notice now that this description ended up extremely long, but I had a lot of thoughts about this project that I never got to say anywhere. Thank you for reading all of this. Hopefully there was something interesting. I think this turned out great in the end, especially the last half that was explained in depth above. The first half was more just design style without any story, but it ended up being a nice intro because of the same colors.
