Best breast pump: primary, portable and wearable

Описание к видео Best breast pump: primary, portable and wearable

There is no one-size-fits-all (or even most) pump. Everyone responds differently to electric pumps because every body (breasts/nipples/hormones) are unique. There is a science behind pump technology. Pumps try to mimic how babies feed at the breast. But here’s the thing: different babies suck at different intensities and at different speeds from each unique mom. So when looking for a pump, you’re trying to find a pump that your body will release (let down) milk to. Not all pumps are created equal. Every pump has advantages and disadvantages. Some will work for MOST people and some will work for FEW people (but they still work). In general, these are my preferred pumps on the market. They each have pros and cons.

Primary pumps: These are made for daily/frequent pumping. Great for EP families that get the job done. They have bigger motors and can move milk efficiently. The Spectra s1/2 are my favorite followed by the Unimom Opera+. The Limerick Joy and Medela Symphony are also powerhouse pumps with unique features. The motif Luna is on the low end of preferred as it is extremely gentle, but great for sensitive nipples.

Portable pumps: smaller, battery operated and wearable, these give more mobility. The Pumpables Genie Advanced is top in this category. The Baby Buddha is phenomenal but STRONG, not for sensitive nips. Freemie pumps are really good as well

Wearables: Wearable pumps fit in the bra and give the most discrete pumping. But they have smaller motors and often leave milk behind. The Momcozy M5 and S12pro are top on the list. I’ve seen too much damage and issues with the Willow and Elvie to recommend them for most, even though those who respond well to them swear by them.
