The Great Buttress, Mount Si - Washington State

The Great Buttress on Mount Si’s western flank towers over the confluence of the Snoqualmie River and the town of North Bend far below. Unlike other objectives on Mount Si, the Great Buttress is almost never visited. There is no trail, and the climb involves dense bushwhacking as you begin, and navigating very steep and loose rocky sections higher up. Deep hidden holes and dangerous boulders, ready to tumble, seem to be everywhere. This is not a place for the inexperienced, but the beauty of the sheer cliffs and rock formations is truly breathtaking. The Pacific Northwest is such a great place to explore new destinations.
