Hi in this video we can see how to make Soya chunks potato gravy in Tamil.
SOYA CHUNKS POTATO GRAVY
INGREDIENTS
soya chunks - 1 cup
potato - 1
onion - 1
shallots - ¼ cup
green chilies - 2
cardamom - 3
cloves - 3
fennel - ¼ tsp
small piece cinnamon
turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
chili powder - 1 tsp
coriander powder - 1½ tsp
garam masala -¼ tsp
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
thin coconut milk - 2 cups
thick coconut milk - 1 cup
coriander leaves
curry leaves
mustard
salt
water
oil
METHOD OF PREPRATION
1. Boil some water and add 1 cup of soya chunks. Let them soak for about 5 minutes. Then, squeeze out all the water once they cool slightly.
2. In a pressure cooker, heat some oil and add 3 cardamoms, 3 cloves, ¼ tsp fennel seeds, and a small piece of cinnamon. Sauté them.
3. Add 1 onion, ¼ cup shallots, 1 large potato, and 2 green chilies. Sauté for about 2 minutes.
4. Add 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another 2 minutes.
5. Add the soya chunks along with the required amount of salt and 1 cup of water. Mix well.
6. Close the pressure cooker and cook on low flame for about 10 minutes.
7. Open the cooker once the pressure releases.
8. Take 1 cup of thin coconut milk and mix in ¼ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chili powder, 1½ tsp coriander powder, and ¾ tsp chicken masala. Mix well.
9. Add this mixture to the curry and let it boil. Then, add another 1 cup of thin coconut milk, adjusting the quantity based on the desired consistency.
10. Let it boil for 5 minutes. Once the raw smell of the spices disappears, add 1 cup of thick coconut milk. After adding the thick coconut milk, do not let it boil. Turn off the flame once it heats up.
11. Finally, add some coriander leaves and ¼ tsp garam masala.
12. In a small pan, heat some oil, splutter a few mustard seeds, and add some curry leaves. Pour this tempering over the gravy.
