ഉപദ്വീപീയ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ പടിഞ്ഞാറേ തീരത്തെ സമുദ്രസുരക്ഷയുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ,പ്രത്യേകിച്ചു മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര മുതൽ ഗുജറാത്ത് വരെയുള്ള തീരമേഖലയിൽ രാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രതിരോധ സംവിധാനങ്ങൾക്ക് അത്യധികം ഭീഷണി ഉയർത്തിയ ഒരു സംഭവമായിരുന്നു ഇസ്രായേലി ബന്ധമുള്ള എം.വി- കെം പ്ലൂട്ടോ എന്ന വാണിജ്യ കപ്പലിനെതിരെ 2023 ഡിസംബർ 24 -നു ഇന്ത്യൻ ജലാതിർത്തിക്കുള്ളിൽ വെച്ചു ഏതോ അജ്ഞത ശക്തികൾ ഡ്രോണുകളുപയോഗിച്ച നടത്തിയ ആക്രമണം. അറബികടൽ തീരത്ത് സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു ഇന്ത്യൻ സംസ്ഥാനമായ ഗുജറാത്തിലെ വർവലിനു 200 നോട്ടിക്കൽ മൈൽ തെക്കു പടിഞ്ഞാറായി നടന്ന ഈ സംഭവം അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ന്യൂദില്ലിയിലെ സുരക്ഷാവൃത്തങ്ങളിൽ കടുത്ത ആശങ്കയാണ് സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതും. 2023 ഒക്ടോബറിൽ തുടങ്ങിയ ഇസ്രായേൽ -ഹമാസ് യുദ്ധം മൂലം മധ്യ പൂർവ്വ ദേശം അത്യധികം 3 കലാപ കലുഷിതമായി കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും . പ്രസ്തുത പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ ഹമാസിനെ പിന്തുണച്ചു യെമനിലെ ഹൂതി വിമതർ ഇസ്രായേൽ കപ്പലുകൾക്കും ,അവരെ അനുകൂലിക്കുന്ന രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ കപ്പലുകൾക്കും നേരെ ചെങ്കടലിലും ,അറബികടലിലും ആക്രമണം പതിവാക്കിയതിനാലും ഈ സാഹചര്യം മേഖലയിലെ പ്രമുഖ ശക്തിയും ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിനു വടക്കുള്ള ഒരു വലിയ രാജ്യവുമായ ഇന്ത്യക്ക് കടുത്ത നാവിക വെല്ലുവിളി ഉയർത്താൻ സാധ്യതയുണ്ടെന്നായിരുന്നു ആഗോള ശാക്തിക തന്ത്രജ്ഞൻമാരുടെ അഭിപ്രായവും. എന്നാൽ അതീവ ഗുരുതരമായ ഈ പ്രതിസന്ധിയെ സ്വന്തം ഉരുക്കുമുഷ്ടികൊണ്ട് നേരിടാൻ ഉറച്ച ഇന്ത്യ ഇതിനായി തങ്ങളുടെ നാവികസേനയിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലുപ്പമേറിയ ഒരു നശീകരണകപ്പലിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ 11 -ഓളം യുദ്ധക്കപ്പലുകളുടെ ഒരു വ്യൂഹത്തെയാണ് വമ്പൻ ആയുധ സജ്ജീകരണങ്ങളുമായി അറബികടലിലേക്കും ,ചെങ്കടലിലേക്കും വിന്യസിച്ചതും. നേവിയുടെ കൈവശമുള്ള ഒരു ആധുനിക ക്ലാസ്സിലെ ലീഡ് ഷിപ്പും ,സ്റ്റെൽത്ത് സൗകര്യങ്ങളുള്ള ഗൈഡഡ് മിസൈൽ ഡിസ്ട്രോയറുമായ ഐ.എൻ.എസ് വിശാഖപട്ടണമായിരുന്നു തദവസരത്തിൽ ഈ ടാസ്ക് ഫോഴ്സിനെ നയിച്ചത് . അന്തർദേശിയ തലത്തിൽ തന്നെ നശീകരണ കപ്പൽ ക്ലാസ്സുകളിൽ വലുപ്പമേറിയ ഡിസ്ട്രോയറുകൾ എന്നും ,ആണവാക്രമണങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു പോലും സംരക്ഷണ കവചമൊരുക്കി സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നു
