Community Dog Patience and specialist handler Nikki work together at a school that supports students with a range of disabilities.

Patience helps to lessen anxieties and promotes positive exchanges at the school. Pupils are also more receptive to learning after spending time with Patience - helping them to go into lessons with a smile on their face.

Patience and Nikki help those at the school in lots of different ways. They may work with students who have specific goals, for example through physiotherapy sessions. Patience provides a calming influence for some pupils and for others, it's all about giving them a sense of responsibility as they help to care for Patience.
