Union Pacific Overland Route in Wyoming 1990! Union Pacific's Overland Route was thick with intermodal and other freight trains on this transcontinental route between Tie Siding and Green River, Wyoming. These trains were pulled by classic C30-7, C36-7 and SD40-2 diesels, as well as C40-8W and SD60M units, the latest in diesel technology at the time. In contrast to fast trains moving across the desert, the show finishes with heavy tonnage climbing the scenic Palmer Divide on Colorado's Denver-Pueblo Joint Line.
