Katherine Birbalsingh is often given the title of ‘Britain’s strictest headmistress’ but there is so much more to her, and indeed her project, than that.

She is the figurehead of the Michaela Community School which last year (in 2019) received its first GCSE grades, ranking 5th nationally.

In this interview themes such as her new book, parental choice, families, structure and order for children, belonging, traditional learning methods, innovation, Michael Gove’s reforms and the future of education are discussed in depth.
