Описание к видео

They often live close to or in human settlements. They can be found on walls, plants and fences on sunny days; and also indoors on window sills, often in the corner behind curtains. There are no extensor muscles at the 'hinge joints' of the spider leg, instead joints extension is due to the haemocoelic blood pressure in the leg. The most significant evidence that this extension is due to hydraulic forces is that the leg spines become erect during the jump, a result of increased body pressure which can be demonstrated on many spiders. The zebra spider's jump is almost entirely due to the sudden straightening of the fourth pair of legs. Like other jumping spiders it does not build a web. It uses its four pairs of large eyes to locate and stalk its prey before pouncing on it. Zebra spiders are often noted for their awareness of humans. Zebra spiders tend to hunt smaller spiders and similar insects. They have been observed feeding on mosquitos that are almost twice their length. They have also been observed taking on prey items up to 3 times the length of the spider, such as some of the smaller species of moth. Like other jumping spiders, these spiders use their large front eyes to locate and stalk their prey. They move slowly towards their prey until they are close enough to pounce on top of their victim, and their hunting behaviour has been described as cat-like. Using their acute eyesight, they are able to accurately judge the distances they need to jump. See more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebra_s...

The Zebra Spider is a common jumping spider that stalks its prey on walls, rocks and tree trunks in the sun, before leaping on it. Zebra Spiders frequent gardens and sometimes come into houses. Males attract females through a complex courtship dance, moving around the females with their legs waving in the air. The females create a silk cocoon in which the eggs are protected, and guards the nest until the young hatch. See more: http://www.wildlifetrusts.org/species...

7 things you didn’t know about the zebra jumping spider. They jump by explosively straightening their back legs. Lacking extensor muscles, the legs are powered by the pressure created when blood is pumped into them from the body See more: http://www.discoverwildlife.com/anima...

This is an easily recognised spider found on sunny walls and fences in rural and built-up areas but also indoors usually near a window. It is also found in more natural open habitats, on rocks, shingle and occasionally tree trunks such as oak in open situations. The spider has been found in pine woodland, swept from heather and sometimes occurs at higher elevations. See more: http://srs.britishspiders.org.uk/port...

These spiders are usually seen from spring through to autumn and can be found on external walls, as well as indoors where they will enter through open doors and windows. They are more likely to flee from humans than attack them, but they can bite - although the venom is not considered medically threatening. See more: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/...

Spiders, unlike insects have two body sections – a cephalothorax and an abdomen. The cephalothorax, or united head and thorax, on the zebra jumping spider has a white lateral band of hairs with additional white hairs and lustrous scales that appear near the region of their eyes. The abdomen has white or light-colored hairs arranged in opposing stripes with a solid band of white around the front part of the abdomen. Females are often lighter in color than the males. Males have very large, dark fangs that project forward, unlike most other spider species whose fangs extend down. These spiders usually mate during the late spring or early summer, and in a few weeks, the female spiders lay egg sacs in the protective web. Egg sacs contain from 15-25 eggs. After about 3-4 weeks, the eggs hatch and the young spiders emerge from the egg sac and leave to begin life on their own. See more: http://www.orkin.com/other/spiders/ze...

Unfortunately handheld, with such a macro and a minuscule depth of field the video is shaky and not always on focus..
