Mourning had 20 of Charlotte's 45 rebounds to go with 23 points. He and Johnson (25 points) combined for 9 of the Hornets' 17 rebounds on the offensive end as the Bulls failed to block out on several key possessions.

"Longley hit me in the ribs, in the stomach and once across the face," said Mourning, referring to the Bulls' reserve center Luc Longley. "You know with a couple 230-pounders, with arms swinging and everyone trying to fit in that little space, guys are going to get hit. I've prepared myself for it the rest of the series."
"We need to carry this intensity level to Chicago," Mourning said. "Our intent was not to avoid getting swept. Our intent today was the same as it has been since we started: to win this series. I still believe we have a good chance of doing that."
