Testing Xtrema Cookware Pots For Leaching Lead | Clean Living Mom

I used the 3M lead check test which is EPA recognized as the most accurate at home test. ⁣
I tested in 4 different places for potential #lead leaching; a newer pot on the inside, a more used pot over a thermal crack in the pot, the newest painted label they currently use on the bottom, and a glaze chipped off part. ⁣

Reasons For A Negative:⁣
it doesn’t detect on a ceramic glaze and wouldn’t pick it up anyway ⁣
it doesn’t contain any leaching lead⁣
it contains a smaller amount of lead this type of test couldn’t detect ⁣
⁣
Reasons For A Positive:⁣
it contains lead ⁣
-it’s a false positive (not very likely) ⁣
